Ask for a defined deliverable
A provider should describe the campaign deliverable before it asks for a commitment. Sellers should know what information they will receive, when they will receive it, how payment is handled, and what support is available if campaign details change.
Look for evidence, not just outcome language
Case examples can be useful, but they need context. Ask for the timeframe, category, campaign inputs, measurement method, and limitations behind any result. Be cautious of absolute ranking promises, vague success rates, or examples without a method.
Understand the policy boundary
A seller should be able to understand what a provider does not do, including whether it asks for reviews, directs customer ratings, or makes a claim of marketplace-policy approval. Responsible providers encourage sellers to review current marketplace policies and obtain their own advice for their situation.
Compare the operating experience
A strong operating experience includes a clear setup process, documented payment instructions, campaign status visibility, a practical final report, and a way to ask questions. The seller should not have to infer the process from marketing copy alone.
- Defined campaign scope and pricing
- Clear support and cancellation expectations
- Marketplace-specific availability where relevant
- Documented reporting and measurement limitations
- Evidence-led case studies or examples
Review the research and policy boundaries checklist before relying on a campaign claim or provider promise.
